J&KSopore Gunfight ends with killing of Three Militants

 

Srinagar, Aug 24(KNS): Three unidentified militants were killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Peth-Seer area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Police said on tuesday.

 

A senior police officer told Kashmir news service (KNS), that this operation was launched last night in Sopore area following the specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

 

He said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire at a search party of the forces, who retaliated. In the exchange of firing, three unidentified militants were killed while the search operation in the area is still going on, the offiicer said.

 

He said that they have recovered incriminating material including arms and ammunition from the slain militants.

 

Moreover, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar also informed that more than hundred militants have been killed so far this year in Valley

 

Kashmir Zone Police while quoting Kashmir police chief on thier Twitter handle informed that ” Today, by the collective efforts of @JmuKmrPolice, @ChinarcorpsIA, @crpfindia and people of Kashmir have led to neutralisation of more than 100 militants in the year of 2021 so far in Kashmir division: IGP Kashmir,”.(KNS).
