MET predicts widespread snowfall, rain in J&K, Ladakh during Jan 4-6
Says heavy snowfall expected at some places during Jan 5-6
Srinagar, Dec 31 (KNS): The meteorological department Srinagar on Friday predicted widespread snow and rainfall of moderate intensity in both Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh during January 4 and 6 with main activity on 5 and 6 January.
An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that heavy snowfall is expected at some places during January 5 and 6, which may affect surface and air traffic
He said that today, weather is generally cloudy in Ladakh and hazy in J&K and as per today’s analysis, widespread snow and rain spell of moderate intensity is most likely during 4-6th January in both UTs with main activity on 5-6th.
“Heavy snow is expected at some places during 5-6th, which may affect surface and air traffic. Light snow is expected over higher reaches of Kashmir during 2-3rd January,” the official said.
He also said that colder days and warmer nights from 2nd onwards are expected and there are 70 percent chances of occurrence. (KNS)
